Coinbase getting ready for full Tezos support
Coinbase custody already supports XTZ, Coinbase Pro will support the Tezos cryptocurrency starting on 5th August according to their blogpost yesterday.
What will change?
Currently Tezos is only available for high volume customers of Coinbase via their custodian service Coinbase custody. The entry barrier here is too high for the “normal retail customer”. Roughly 1 million dollar equivalent
As Tezos will launch on Coinbase Pro this opens up the way for XTZ to get acccessible for professional and normal traders.
Will Coinbase Pro support staking/baking of Tezos?
If Coinbase will stake/delegate Tezos for their users to give them the incentive of a “passive income” is currently unknown. They already support staking as a service for their custodian customers. So the chances are high.
